Large Xmind map became unsavable - the solution

This post is to pass on a solution to a problem I hit.Yesterday I was working on a large mind map that I've been building up for a few weeks. Suddenly I reached the point where I could add no more to the map. Or rather, I could add more, but then I could not save the map.
